'fit helmet"

have you ever done this or heard of it? when my little cousin (she's between 2-3 yrs old) throws a fit, she slams her head on the wall/floor. they talked to her pedi about it and her pedi said to put a helmet on her when she's throwing a fit. so they hold her down, put a helmet on her and then let her go about throwing her fit. her grandparents watch her when her parents work and she has to take it when she goes over there. to me this sounds a bit extreme but i guess it's for her safety...

my kid does this too. He'd flip the hell out if I put a helmet on him...

DS is 5 1/2 and still does this. Putting a helmet on him sounds extreme. I figure hell eventually get tired of hurting himself because he's mad.

idk, she's apparently done it for a while and they can't get her to stop. they're afraid she'll bust her head open because she does it hard enough that it's possible
