When did your nail fall off?

After smashing your finger?

I smashed my thumb on Sunday, at the base of my nail.. and it's already "loose". It feels like a bad fake nail or something. I can tell it isn't attached anymore, but I'm assuming since it goes well under my skin down to my knuckle, it will be at least a few days before it actually starts to come off.

& What do I do then? The top will probably still be attached..

Both my girls dropped something on their big toe. It was loose and had a blood blister under it but took 2-3 months to fall off.

My hubby smashed his finger in a car door and it took his a few weeks of "loose" before he pulled it off with pliers. I think it could be a while but everyone is different.

Did you drain your kids nails? Or did your hubs drain his?

I drained mine the night it happened, so there isn't a blood pocket underneath it anymore. IDK if that makes a difference.

with my toenail, it took about 3 weeks to fall off. i dropped a 2 liter on it

I didnt drained the girls although once the nail grew out to a certain point the blood kinda drained on its own cuz it reached the end (if that makes sense). My DH drained his a couple of time because he had blood built up under the skin by his cuticle and it made a huge pocket. Kinda gross. He was very impatient and constantly tried getting it off everyday until he has his buddy help him pull it.
