because the emotional damage something like that can do to a child. ive seen it before in a friends kid adn in a foster child of mine. of course we would sit her down and explain but certain children at certain ages let things really get to them. but thats one of those things that can really, even for a short time, hurt a childs feelings, even create fear or doubt in them.

A slander suit won't stop them from talking, and that's just what it is, talk. Sure it hurts sometimes, but you can't stop people from talking so you're better off just ignoring them.
