Is 6 too young?

My son is 6. He always says he wants to help me with his brother and sister. They are almost 3 and 14 months. So I ask him to get me diapers, wipes, make a bottle for his sister and a sippy cup for his brother. He loves doing it.

However my DH and dad say he's too young. That he shouldn't be doing anything and he really shouldn't make bottles or a cup for them.

Do y'all think he is too young? When he asks to help. And I don't force him to do it or anything.

Making a bottle he is too young IMO.

no my sons 6 and i let him pour his own drinks !! they gotta learn eventually! as long as your there watching them!

If your there with him to make sure he is doing it right I don't see why he can't do that, but I do think he would be too young to do it by himself with nobody watching.

I dunno about the bottles because the measurements are pretty specific, but I certainly don't think he's too young to help out with other things... like diapers, bath time, etc.

Not at all! DD helps me with LO, she's only 2. I think it's good for them to help, I think it makes older kids feel more included.

I think he is old enough.

I'm sorry I forgot to add she is on whole milk. So all he has to do is pour it in the bottle or cup.

Oh okay, then yeah, that's no problem. I think it's extremely productive. As long as you don't mind cleaning up a spill every now and then.

I thought you were talking about formula... I think that's fine.

He cleans it. Hell give her the bottle then say "mom I made a mess where's the towel?" And go clean it up.

Sorry I didn't think to add that. My brain is like gone being sick.

I read it as 3 months and 14 months old. So I thought that he was too young for making formula. But if its whole milk, I say it's fine.
