Yay!!

I had my appointment yesterday with my midwife.. Asked all my questions.
She clamps the cord after it finishes pulsating, takes cord blood (because I have O+), then I deliver the placenta. She automatically wraps the placenta up and freezes it in case I wanted to encapsulate, etc and it stays good up to a year!
I LOVE that she naturally does all of this!

Hmmm why does you having O+ blood make them take it?

Just curious I'm O+ too

I know that O+ is a universal blood donor .. Assuming that's why. I didn't actually ask her though, that's a good question. Lol now ill have something else to ask her. I just tried Googling it but didn't find anything other than to make sure the baby isn't ABO

I feel abosolutely great  . I think I had a bit of ppd with my twins but this time its 100% different. I'm sure its a mix of the situation, having 1 baby, and the placenta but I'd do it again in a heartbeat

Quoting Take me as I am:" If you have the baby at a hospital more then likely they won't give it to you. I would check into, good ... [snip!] ... luck. No way in hell I would do it but its in now days. I hear it's not to bad just get a dehydrator just for that case only."

Why not? I've had 2 c-sections in a hospital, and each time they've asked if I wanted to keep the placenta, of course I do, silly doctor, not to drink or anything, but I did put them under a tree   guess it's dif in other countrys...
