Mother-in-law telling me to get an abortion...

I found out my mirena was half way out and got it removed, and before they removed it and after I've been having pregnancy symptoms. I'm waiting two weeks to take a test, however, the possibility is still there and my mother-in-law told me that if I was pregnant again (my baby is almost 8 months old) she'd talk to me and my fiance about abortion. Would you be mad if your mother-in-law said that to you? Especially if she knows how you feel about it?

I would be so beyond pissed off, there'd be thunder and smurf to pay.

Did she actually say that? Because I could not take that calmly...that is so out of line.

I would be upset if mine talked to me about this and she clearly knew i was against abortion or still pushed me even after i told her my feelings.

You've already posted this elsewhere. And from what you posted she is not telling you to get an abortiion, she was jsut going to bring up the conversation.

8 months between pregnancies is not something I would want to do

Meh it's insensitive, but I wouldn't make a incident out of it. I'd just tell her that it's not her choice.

I'd tell her to shove her opinions up her ass

I would def be annoyed at it but I would kindly tell her that thats a decision that i won't be making and to please stop with it. If she continued i'd get my DH to tell her to back off

1. Why are you waiting 2 weeks? If you have symptoms, chances are you would show on a test

2. Depending on why she brought it up. If you are barely making it now with the one child, living on welfare and other forms of assistance, I can understand why she would have brought up the topic. If she just doesn't like you, I would be annoyed. My monster in law and ssmurf in law have done worse over the years so this is a drop in the bucket for me. I wouldn't be that worked up.

I'd be furious! It's nobody's business how many kids you have, regardless of how close together they are. As long as you and your SO are happy and willing to take care of your children, your MIL should back off and keep her mouth shut. It still bothers me that my MIL asked DH if I was pregnant a while back (around the time I was having a miscarriage) because he'd mentioned I wasn't feeling well. When he said no, she responded "Good." Of course, I got pregnant shortly afterwards, and thankfully she was smart enough to keep her mouth shut when she found out. lol

If this was my mil? No I wouldnt be. I honestly wish she would bring it up with her other children, but thats my mil.

I got preg with mirena in, it was very not planned and a terrible i time, but i would be beyond pissed if someone besides my husband bought up abortion to me... And even when me and him talked about it, i didn't like hearing his face about my uterus anyway...

I would be hurt more then anything especially since that is her grandchild

Yeah I did, it was an accident, my internets crappy and said it didn't post. She didn't just causually bring it up and I sure as heck didn't bring it up. She tried convincing my fiance to convince me to have an abortion with my first child as well.
