They Did gave me a picture though where it shows a boy part although I do think it is too soon to tell.

They are more than likely right, but you might want to wait for your 18-20 week anatomy scan before you start buying blue =)

I've never had a 4d US, I've had a 3d US and both times I was told I was having a boy, and I do have 2 boys. Gender can be mistaken in US, but in my experience the tech usually has enough training to be pretty reliable on their determination. The only time I ever knew one that was wrong was about 20 years ago, and she was told she was having a girl and I told her it was a boy (I was a naive 10 year old who was absolutely certain in my gut feeling) and she ended up having a boy. That was when US wasn't nearly as accurate though, so the chances of being wrong were higher. i would say, prepare for the tech to be right, but it doesn't hurt to stay nuetral when purchasing things, just in case.

this! From what I hear even 3d/4d ultrasounds can be wrong.

I was 14w 5d when I had an ultrasound, they did both 3d nd 4d. In 3d you could clearly see the boy parts, not so much in 4d.

At 15 weeks I was told I was having a girl....(by an ER doc) Then at my 20 week ultrasound you can imagine the surprise when I was told my little girl is actually a boy!!!

I had my anatomy scan with ds at 18w5d and the tech said boy. My ob reminded me the rest of the time that it's still only a guess even though they labeled the parts and everything. So it could be a mistake even later. lol. But I'd wait for my anatomy scan before I started to buy anything.

3D is a still shot of 4D. 4D is when the ultrasound is in motion, it's a constantly updated picture of a 3D, so basically a video.

That's still pretty early and 3D images are actually worse for detecting gender that early, they blur the genitals and fill in space.

At 15 weeks, almost 16 weeks, my baby appeared to be a boy, but in later ultrasounds definitely a girl. At the time she had swollen labia that looked to be a penis
