re: Reasonable weight loss for 5 months

posted 19th Feb
One of those times I'll show my progress (and groan, lol) here we go. The before was at the start of my weight loss. I think I've lost maybe 25lbs between them.

Warning, undie pictures, lol

before:

Now:

Not at my goal yet, but getting closer all the time!! I think taking pictures really helps with continued motivation, because there will be some weeks where the scale won't move and you'll need to be reminded by how far you've come.

You can do it, and it's TOTALLY worth it!

AH! 25 lbs? That's amazing.
I love pictures where people lose the little "pouch", because it sometimes seems like I'll never be able to. I like knowing that it's possible.
What do you do?

It's gone away, little by little, haha.

Just eating better and exercise. I did weight watchers first to help me really look at my eating habits. Now I just track calories most of the time. I don't do a lot of "exercise" but rather just stay active. I got a fitbit to help me track steps. I have some health issues so I can't do very much strenuous activity, so instead I just make sure I am moving most of the day.

I love that thing! It's the greatest. I had a bodyfit before, but the fitbit is SO MUCH better.

Sure. I have had an ultra and one, so not a zip, but I might still be able to answer them.

I'm sorry

Do you use MFP or anything? Like, what's the best way to use your fitbit? I know it counts things, but do you enter in food or exercise on their site or anything?
I synced mine to MFP today, I just want to make sure I use it properly and get the most use out of it, lol.

Yeah, I synced it to MFP and I LOVE that. I like MFP way better then the food tracker on fitbit. Just be careful on your settings, because fitbit tracks almost everything, so you can overestimate if you have your settings on MFP as being more active.

That's what I'm confused on, I don't know how to set each up

I set up MFP as sedentary. So it tracks the bare minimum for my calorie expenditure. Then, the fitbit updates by adding calories in based on the activity I do. I find that to be the safest way, but a lot it also trial and error. If you do it and don't see a loss, you know yuo need to adjust the settings.

That's what I have mine set to, as well. Seems like I'm doing things right, then, yeah? Hopefully it works! I have a beach to go to in July lol
