I have that and I'm due on June 28th. My doctor said 99% of the time it moves up on its own. Just take it easy and good luck.

Don't worry too much! When you see your baby, it won't matter anymore.
And I swear the past 5 or so posts I have clicked on, the OP is posting for the first time. Weird

If its almost covering your cervix that's called marginal placenta previa. They'll just watch it to see if it moves. And yes of it doesn't you need a csection otherwise you can need a blood transfusion or bleed to death if something were to happen.
If it does move MAKE them thoroughly check for vasa previa. This is what I ended up having. It sucks to have a csection, but sometimes it's what's best. Most placenta previas move by the end of your preg. Just be patient.

I'm surprised your Dr brought up a cesarean already.. you still have plenty of time for it to stretch.. or it is covering the entire placenta? That's different than just low lying. Ihave a marginal, some of my cervix is still available, but my midwife is just keeping and ye on it until it actually becomes a problem.

Ah you just reminded me.. I have my 29 week follow up tomorrow. I forgot you told me to ask about VP

I wouldnt stress yourself too much as of yet. I had the same thing (they found it at my 20 week ultrasound) and they did another ultrasound yesterday (I am now 29 weeks) and it had definitely moved up. I stressed and worried the whole time until yesterday. DO NOT google anything on the subject because itll only make you stress and worry more (trust me I did it). Just take things easy.

Yes very important not to forget that!!! Seriously. Good luck. I hope your placenta moved and there's no vessels attached down there.

Did they check you for vasa previa? Like use a color Doppler or anything? Because a previa puts you at a greater risk for it. It often goes undiagnosed and needs to be screened for.

Me too! It didn't move from between my 21 and 25 week appointments, never thoughtiid say it but I hope tomorrow is my last ultrasound! When did you find out about tour VP? And when did you go into the hospital? I remember your posts.. I can only imagine what you went through emotionally, I will be devastated .. this is our last baby and we're hoping for a home birth. Quite the opposite scenario .. on top of the placenta this stinker loves being transverse, but he still has a a couple of weeks to move

I Had placenta previa at 11 weeks and marginal at 19. At 19 he just mentioned there appeared to be a vessel by my cervix probably the baby's. I had bleeding at 26 weeks and the u/s tech at the hospital said I had complete previa (goes to show the diff in u/s machines and never mentioned the vp). Went to the Peri the following week and he confirmed vp. Scheduled me to come back before the third trimester at 27 weeks to confirm and it was still there. My placenta had moved up out of the way. But actually had stretched across the whole left side of my uterus. And when I had her I found out I actually had two placentas that's why it was taking up so much extra space. It was crazy.

They checked and everything looked perfect. It was such a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
