Presribed Glyburide
posted 19th Feb
I've been treating my GD with diet only for about seven weeks now. Recently my evening numbers and fasting numbers have been rising. Three or four days a week my fasting numbers are 102-107. And a couple days a week my after dinner numbers are between 135 and 150. So, yesterday at my appointment my OB prescribed glyburide and I have to go in for NST twice a week. He set an induction date for the 18th of March. I'm just bummed because I've been working hard and sticking to the diet and exercising and it just sucks for my numbers to rise anyway. Anyone else been prescribed this? Was it able to keep your blood sugar numbers down?

i was prescribed it with my last pregnancy, the lowest dose possible, and only right before bed because my fasting numbers with the only ones that were bad. And by bad i mean like 95 some days... It didn't really help me a lot they still hovered around 92-95 and they wanted them below 90. They induced me on my due date, I had nst's twice a week, and an ultrasound once a week.

i was i had to take it twice a day. I was happy they give me it because nothing I did kept my sugar low it would always be between 180 to a little over 200. It help alot. I'm not sure if it effected my son coming early (he was 36 weeks but was still able to come home in 2days) because my daughter also came at 36 weeks and was to able to come home. I guess i just have small babies.

With this LO I've been prescribed just glyburide and I started out at 2.5 and am now at 5 with it probably going higher tomorrow. I take it right after my fasting sugar and it worked for awhile but now I can't seem to get a handle on my dinner or fasting sugars. I've cut out everything I can think of without just not eating to keep them down and its not working. I didn't eat anything b4 my fasting time and this morning my sugar was 138. Depending on how the pregnancy is affecting your pancreas its just harder for some. I start my weekly NST'S in a few weeks but at my last ultrasound she was right around where she should be and I have another ultrasound at 34? wks I think to measure her again and check for some other stuff.
