breastfeeding mommas please help!

OK so I've been stuck in the hospital since last night and they've been giving me morphine for the pain I'm experiencing. My soon is 7 months old and is refusing all forms of food for my husband meaning he hadn't eaten since 10 last night. The nurse said he doesn't know if it's safe to nurse while taking it and he needs to speak with a doctor. Does anyone have any information on this since it seems to be taking a while for them to get back with me? TIA.

Its safe. Not much passes to baby. The worst thing is that baby might be a little sleepy. It's perfectly fine. Formula would be worse for your baby.

Alot of doctors and nurses are really uneducated about drug and breast feeding interaction. ( obviously, your nurse had to ask)

Moms breast feed NEWBORNS after birth on pain meds all the time.

People bf after csections and often have morphine.

They aren't too bad, they gave me a bad ass pump to use but they've been dumping all of my milk... I've never been able to get 6 oz off of each breast in a sitting and they dumped it. Lol
