Why does your kid having a diff last name make things harder? Ive never found it harder.

I had a harder time at the school and with medical stuff. I was forever having to explain things and many times called by my former last name or my kids called my new last name. Heck my second husband was even called my former last name. We have a blended family so it's always fun trying to explain who belongs to who . lol Maybe we should all pick one new last to make thing easier.

Ok I guess a blended family would be a little more confusing. I'm the only one with a diff last name. My kids both have SOs last name. So I guess we're not *too* confusing.

You can change the last name...but I would just give him the one he'd end up with anyway. That's what we did. LO's last name is Hughes, even though mine is Suter and SO's is Teel-Hughes. lol
So none of us have the same last name atm...

And I know you posted this a couple of days ago...but eh....oh well. I'm bored

Just an FYI (since my husband had a different name at birth) - you can't change his name on the bc once it is filed. You can legally change his name, but forever he will have to aknowledge that he was once known by a different name (or had an alias.) And when trying to do legal stuff, he will have to show his bc with his original name as well as his name change paperwork. Just something to think about!!
