Cancel OB/GYN Appointment or Keep?

I made my appointment 2 months ago due to having major bladder issues/pelvic pain. One episode was bad and my bladder felt like it was going to explode but I couldn't pee, I went to the hospital (I was in a lot of pain) and they told me I didn't have a UTI but said it could be an STD. I denied the testing, I felt embarrassed. I mean I've been with only my husband for the last 2.5years and never felt like this, not until after I had my baby 6 months ago. I've previously had cysts on my ovaries too and get pelvic pains like they are coming back. My appointment is tomorrow and I just got my period.. today. If I cancel it'll take another 2 months to get in, but I don't want to go and not be helped. What would you do?

I'd keep it if only to talk with the dr about your symptoms and try to get some ideas of what else could be the issue. if the dr says they want to see you once AF is over, maybe they'd be able to schedule something sooner than if you cancelled and rescheduled on your own.
it's just so odd to me, people having to wait so long for appointments. i must be lucky that i've really never had to wait more than a day or two to see a dr

I would go anyway. Being on your period shouldn't matter, you can still get a pelvic exam (if you need one). The doctor will probably schedule you for an ultrasound.

My doctor is really good but ever since I started seeing him hes gotten 10x busier! During my pregnancy I only got half the appointments I was supposed too due to there not being enough time. I'll go then, and hopefully I can get some kind of an explanation.

i would get std testing you never know and a pap. its smart for anyone sexually active.

They can't examine while you have your period. I would call and explain and make sure you don't have your period next time

I went and he did an examine. He did a pap, but no std testing. Because they run all the tests when I was pregnant which was less than a year ago. My period was super light and he said it wouldn't effect anything. I go back for an ultrasound for my bladder/ovaries in a week. I was worried for nothing!
