Miscarriage or abnormal period ???
posted 18th Feb
Hi guys I'm totally new to this but I just wanted someone's opinion on this matter if I had a miscarriage or just a bad period ! So background first I suffer with my periods always heavy troublesome a bit erratic too coming and going so its hard to know if I was pregnant as with them not regular i don't know if I'm late or not! Anyways when I start my period normally it sorta brown discharge spotting for first day or two and real bad headache so I know it's enroute anyways this time I was at home and I just got up to go make a cuppa and I felt this gush and wet warm sensation between my legs when I made it to the bathroom my underwear was covered in red red blood I was shocked. From that moment to today it has been coming constant gushing with massive clots no control over it what so ever. I have a deep pain in my back and my pelvis is so achey it was sore to stand for the first 2 days and even felt like whole pelvis and tummy was swelled and bloated up until 2 days ago!! It's so bad that at times even to make it as far as the toilet is hard and the bed sheets/ underwear get drenched !!i took some pics of clots yesterday and even though they are graphic and disgusting I'd appreciate an honest opinion. I went to doc today and he did urine test and said it was negative but I know with my last pregnancy I done test at 4 weeks and had negative result didn't test positive until week 5.5 !! My gp has prescribed me to take provera to stop the clots and bleeding for 4 weeks and c him again then, just can't get it out of my head that maybe it was a miscarriage as I've never in all my life witnessed anything like the gushing/clots of this week. Thanks for taking the time to read this !! Kelly

You bled when you were scheduled to have a period.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. It's probably a duck.

It's possible it was a miscarriage. It's also possible that it was simply a heavy period.
There's actually no way to tell, or for us to tell. I've had some pretty wicked ones but I know I wasn't pregnant or miscarrying, it happens.

If your pregnancy test is negative... I'm going to go with PERIOD.

I would go with possible miscarriage. although with no regular schedule it is hard to tell. I think they could draw blood and still check levels and I know they can do an ultrasound and tell by looking at your uterus. Either way, I think you need a good ob/gyn and not just a gp.
