Not to be a Debbie Downer, here, but are you POSITIVE that NOTHING bad has EVER happened to her because of a man? Has she EVER in her LIFE been left alone with ANY man - INCLUDING your husband/her father?

DD has hated men from BIRTH. And NOTHING has EVER happened to her either.
She is way better at 3 though.
I think it's because men are so big with deep voices. DD always warmed up to the men I know that were short with higher voices haha.
If she saw a man more than once she eventually warms up to them. But strangers, hell no.

Thank you a real answer! My DD has been the same way. I was hoping to find someone that knows how I feel and what I mean. We are on a free month with her classes but I don't want to pay the 134 a month if she won't do anything.

I'm sure my Mom didn't think my adoptive father was, either. Point blank, unless you have eyes on her every second of every day, you don't know what has or has not happened. Not to make you paranoid, just pointing out a fact - you never know. People can hide things - they can hide aspects of themselves. No matter how good you think your husband is, he could have done something, and given a child so young being afraid of men, I'd definitely suspect something has happened. Even the "best" men can be hiding sordid secrets - my adoptive father (who began raping me when he married my mother - I was 5 years old) was a police officer. Hell, the BTK serial killer was a city employee (code enforcer) and a leader at his church. People can be shady.

I think a big thing with DD is she was just never around men. It was just me and my mom and her until I met DH when she was 2. And she LOVES DH, totally took to him, but no other man lol. I guess he didn't scare her.
But if your DD has consistently been around men and is still scared of them, that is worrisome. But, some girls are just like that. Is she afraid of women and strangers too, or just men?

1) The only thing narrow minded, here, is thinking that just because you know him, he'd never do anything like this.

2) I never said he was raping her. I said that was what happened in my circumstances, but I never said that it was what was happening here. Being too rough with "discipline', shaking her, etc, could also be valid causes for her to fear men that you would not know he was doing if you were not present.

Since I have been with him for 5 years. I know him pretty damn well. He would NEVER do anything like that to them because of my past.

He isnt rough with her with anything..
