Immunodeficiency Disorders

posted 18th Feb
If you LO has one, how and when was it detected? What were their sypmtoms? DS has gotten a lot of infections throughout his 5 year, at one point he was hospitalize for7 days d for a tissue infection while he also had pink eye, an ear infection, and throat infection (all within 3 days). I actually haven't counted them for each year but this year he has had 4 already; croup, double ear infection, strep, and pink eye. He had the ear infections on Dec 28 and since he's had all the others.

He is seen a new pedi and he makes me feel like I'm being too paranoid. What do you ladies think?

I would ask the doc and request a blood test.

Isn't blood tests the only way to for sure diagnose? Coupled with looking at history?

Yeah but he refuses to do any tests because to him is not concerning. He hasn't see his history as he has only been seen DS for a month but I have been to his office a few times already with a new infection each time.

Can you get a new dr. He is not listening to your concerns as a parent. That's unacceptable

I would ask his doctor to do an IgG blood test, OP.

Yeah that is exactly what I am considering this is really frustrating. He said it's normal to get 5-7 infections in a year but considering it has been more than that if I count from a year ago to now, he should be testing!
