Paraguard question

Ive had the paraguard sence the end of October. Ive had a peroid every month. But its been exactly 4 weeks today sence my last peroid. The 2 peroids between it was 3 weeks and 2 days. Is my peroid just irregular or should i worry? I also just called my OB friday cuz i cant find one of my strings! Im going to check again but im pretty sure the other string was pretty short as well.
So question is, should i worry? I dont think we are ready for another baby ATM. But if the BC fails i guess it means we are.

I'd take a test. Paragard isn't supposed to make you irregular. I've had it for 2 years and mine have always been like clockwork for the most part. I remember one time I was a few days late, but I had been SUPER stressed, so I think that was what caused it for me.

I can't help you as far as the period part because I spent 3 out of the 5 months I had it bleeding and only had one actual period while on(I am actually now 4 weeks and 2 days late for my next period). I just had it removed 2 weeks ago for that reason since I couldn't stand it anymore. As far as the strings, I could never find the other one and the one I could feel was WAY too long. Of course, my OB kept telling me that the strings were where they needed to be and everything looked good the like 5 times I saw her during the time I had it.

I was irregular on paragard. My gyno said some people are just irregular.

I called and the nurse told me it was normal to just feel one and as long as i could feel one i was OK! So that was reassuring. But im going to check again here in about an hour before i get in the shower. But im waiting till i put my kids to bed. then i will shower and check.

I had actually asked about my strings on here before and everyone told me I should see another doctor and get a second opinion. I never did but I got it out anyway so it didn't really matter. I was just sick of the constant bleeding but not having any periods.

I had implanon and my peroids were so irregular it was unbelieveable!

Yeah, I had the Depo shot and never had a period while on it but did have random spotting. It sucked so I only had one shot and then got on the Paragard instead of getting another one. I'm sure thats probably why my period is over 4 weeks late since it hasn't regulated yet. I just hope it doesn't take too long to regulate because its really annoying not knowing whats going on with my body.

I agree! The only time my peroids were regular was when i was on the pill. So i may go back on that if i have to switch again. But idk

I wish I could go back on the pill! I have health issues that don't allow me to take estrogen so the pill, patch or Nuvaring are not an option. After both the Depo and Paragard sucking I am not about to try the Mirena or Implanon either. Right now its condoms or spermicide strips. My DH and I are just PRAYING that they do their job since we are both extremely fertile. Plus the fact that we have 3 kids because of getting caught up in the heat of the moment lol.
