LUCKILY she had a portable ultrasound so she was able to reassure me that everything was alright!

You should really try to find a different OB if possible.Since u don't like her. You should have a good doctor/patient relationship with your OB and be able to trust them and what they say,and feel 100% comfortable with them.Trust me,it'll save you A LOT of stress   I didn't hear my heartbeat,he didn't check at the first appointment,but he set me up for my first U/S and the tech tried looking for it and was shocked to get it at 8 wks,she didn't think it'd be there yet...AND I could see the little heart flickering  

My OB didn't even try to find the heartbeat until 20 weeks so I went ahead and bought my own fetal doppler.   Hopefully they try to find it at your next appointment though!

we did ultrasounds. dr didnt start trying with the doppler till i was 16 or 17 weeks, and it took the nurse and the doc both trying for 15 minutes to find it lol

You do realize that for your GBS test they do swab the vagina and rectum to get samples to test, that could account for the anal action.

They wouldnt be doing a GBS test so early.

Also yes RUN AWAYYY! Get a different OB and keep going to different ones till you find one you love, you are stuck with them for months!

When I was 17 and pregnant I had a smurffy doctor, I didn't know I could get a different one. And she also randomly, abruptly without warning, shoved a finger up my ass. I was NOT okay with this what so ever!!! You don't DO that to someone!

I had a rectal check done by my first OB but she warned me. She was checking my uterus and for hemorrhoids due to the fact it was my second pregnancy. You need to like and trust your OB. Find another if she doesn't fit the bill . You could also wait and see if you both were just having an off day.

Huge difference between a cotton swab and a whole finger crammed up there lol

The office I go to has 4 different ones. You have to circulate between all of them and then you can stick with one. I think it's stupid I'm doing it again. I definitely want the same Ob I had for my son so I don't see the point. The good thing is I won't have to see her again.

I've had that done before but still it never went into my anus just around and it isn't done this early. She didn't swab only her finger went up there.

What she did was called a rectovaginal exam. You can find information about why it is done online. I have had one done before. Sorry you didn't get to hear the heartbeat but maybe next time
