Sick toddler. Help

So my three year old has a bronchial infection. She is on amoxicillin and we can not get her to eat. She drinks and has freezies and Popsicles. She had had horrible diarrhea to the point we have had to put a diaper back on her though she is potty trained. My questions are I know she needs to eat but how long before I should take her in for the diarrhea. It has been at least five days of it off and on. Now it's getting worse most likely because of the antibiotics. I feel horrible for her. She says her stomach hurts. Probably because of how hard it is on her stomach. But I don't know what to do. She has no energy and wants to lie around.

Well firsts off you have to stop giving her any thing with sugar. No juice or Popsicle or freezies. Sugar makes diarrhea worse. Water and pedialight. Also try some brat foods. Bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast. If she still has bad diarrhea by tomorrow I would take her to the doctor.

im not sure how long you should wait, because im a worry wart and would have scheduled a sick visit with my sons pedi lol  

do they make like, pedialyte popsicles or anything like that?

The worry with diarrhea is dehydration. I would give her pedilite and pedilite popsicles. Stay away from fruit juices/Popsicles they can make diarrhea worse. As long as she is properly hydrated I wouldn't worry about the diarrhea.

And ask her pedi about a children's probiotic for her to take while she is taking the antibiotics. We always take probiotics to keep the good stuff in our bodies while on antibiotics. And the probiotic usually prevents the diarrhea that is associated with the antibiotics. Good luck, I hope she feels better soon!

Ok thank you ladies. We make our Popsicles as she is allergic to cane sugar but I will have to get some pedialite tomorrow. Stores are all closed here today. I will watch get closely. I want to take her but hubby says I am overreacting. I will try to get her to eat something from the BRAT diet. She really just won't eat though.

All of these are good suggestions, but what concerns me about what you've written is the lethergy. If she's just laying around, I would take her to see the doctor. Especially since you say this has been going on for 5 days or so. I hope she feels better soon Jen!
