the e-card is of a girl looking hurt.

The guy is confused saying he doesn't know how to interpret the ecard as a penis joke or a DV joke.

Basically stereotyping black guys as abusive with big penises.

Same. I snorted when I read the first part and rolled my eyes at the second part.

Not me, I'm on my phone so I only saw the top part and thought it was a penis joke. Not really funny though IMO.

I chuckled.
It wasn't that funny. Not because it was offensive or anything, I don't really get offended by anything. I think all jokes about all races, gender, etc. are hilarious. It just wasn't put together that well.

How did it do that though? Unless it was suggested why would someone automatically assume she was in a from the waist down cast because he beat her?

usually only the top half, the "e-card" is what you see around the internet.
the bottom half is a separate meme that people add to other things to change a joke around.

Exactly. The ecard was the only part of the joke when it first went viral.

Right, but the girl is hurt ON the ecard. It could be taken as DV joke OR because his penis was so big it hurt her.

That's why the bottom half was added on.
