why have a baby on heroine

im doing a paper for school about prenatal influences and my topic is heroine addictions while pregnant. one of the things i need to cover in paper is why would a mother choose to keep her baby even though shes an addict. my guideline for the essay says to research it and i cannot find anything. i have thought of my own reasons but i need actual research. i have come up with needing to be loved fining out too late and not being able to abort, but i need evidence to back it up. any help?

I don't know much about it, or where you can find research, but I do know it's spelled heroin, not heroine. A heroine is like a hero. Might wanna change that before you misspell it over and over again.

I would put in that the mother is probably less educated than a non-addicted mother.

Seems like it's going to be hard to find research to back up why someone would keep a child. Seems pretty subjective, person to person.

Also, that "why would someone keep a child" may have zero to do with the mother being an addict or not.

Hell. They could just be super pro-life and not believe in abortion.

Maybe because they're working on sobering up and are under a drs care? It's still a child regardless of having an abuse problem.

Because when you're an addict you can't admit that you have a problem until you're ready to get clean and addict s don't think that they doing anything wrong or they just don't care.

I recovered from heroin addiction while pregnant with my oldest. Not sure if my reasons would really count and I didn't decide to keep her until she was born. I was on the fence about adoptiom until delivery.

A good place to start would be Narcotics Anonymous. Particularly if you can find a women's only group. A lot of women aren't afraid to share their experiences provided you maintain anonymity.

You should probably learn how to spell your topic before writing anything on it.
