WWYD? (looong but help me)

So we haven't heard back about that job yet. Come to find out it usually takes them months to hear back. We don't have months to sit around poking our asses.

DH has his fire certs to get into the academy. His dad is one of the main chiefs in the city and told us that they are only doing ONE academy this year and are only taking about 15-20 people.

IF DH doesn't get in, we can't wait around until next year. We're finding work NO WHERE.
In this scenario WWYD??
DH applies to other FD's out of the city. Like up to 8 or 10 hours away.
He gets accepted, and you have not a cent to your name in order to move, would you:

A. Have him go up by himself during the academy and once he finishes use the money he made during that time to get a place.
or
B. Continue trying to find work in your area

Idk your situation... but I would do both.

Oh let me add this, if DH was accepted elsewhere I would have to stop EBF and find a job, which would probably be easier for me because of my qualifications.

If he got into an academy in another area I would have him go up on his own and do his thing! And then move later. And 8-10hrs away is like another state for us!! that is far, so I were actually in that situation, we would be screwed and I have shared custody and we can't move out of state or too far from my daughter's father.
But if it is a go for you guys, that is what i would do.

why would you have to stop EBF?? you can pump, you know. If you start now you can build a stash for the sitter to use while you are gone and just pump every few hours at work,

If he moved and you would have to stop EBF and get a job, why wouldn't you rather just try to find a job and have him stay where you are?

I hear that, though. I'm way more qualified than DH is and would bring home a lot more money. But as I'm the one who gets pregnant and breastfeeds, he's the one that works.

I would do both. No harm in looking even if he gets accepted somewhere just in case something local pops up.

Because we wasted time and money to get him his fire certs, it's what his dream in life is to work for the FD. His certs would just be going to waste if we just stayed here and I was the one working.
