Ear piercing while pregnant.

I know people say you shouldn't get tattoos or piercings while pregnant, I understand the tattoo part but why aren't you suppose to get piercings while pregnant? Thanks  

I'd think for the same reason as tattoos; the risk of infection.

You could get an infection!

Because you have a suppressed immune system during pregnancy and both are open wounds. Your body is way more likely to reject a piercing during pregnancy

Infection and piercing rejection. I got a ear piercing the month before I got pregnant and my body has been trying to reject it my entire pregnancy and I have NEVER had issues with piercings before.

I got my belly button done while pregnant, and didnt know i was pregnant. I was like 2 months. It healed perfectly, but everyone is different.

Same as tats the stress of it could cause problems plus infection ....its possible it could not harm you at all of course just doing it on purpose and putting yourself up for that risk says alot about a person lol

You could possibly send the baby into SHOCK! No good,definitely wouldn't recommend piercings while pregnant,just be patient and wait til after the baby is here. I have a HUGE tattoo on my side/ribs and it still needs to be finished.(only the outlining is finished) My brothers wife just delivered her daughter 2 weeks ago and informed me shes "ready 2 finish" knowing I'm 5 months pregnant with my daughter..um hello but no,I'll take a raincheck for JULY ,is she crazy or WHAT lol

I got my cartilage pireced when I was pregnant with DD, like 6 weeks and didn't know yet. It got infected and it swelled up, my ear was huge and it hurt soooo bad.. It took probably 3-6 weeks for all the infection to go away. It was terrible.

I went to get my ear pierced I want the bar through it, and he wouldn't do it. He said it could cause an infection that could hurt the baby.
