If you live in the South
posted 18th Feb
This is probably gonna sound like an extremely odd question, but for those of you who live in the south or in warmer places.... at what temperature do you NOT go outside and play/walk/stroll/ whatever with your kids??
I live in Alabama to me, it's cold at 45 F so we usually dont go outside on days like that because even bundled up, my kids aren't used to it being THAT cold... and on days like today where it is 50 F and there is a strong 20-30 MPH wind...
I guess the reason I dont is because my kids wont tell me when they are cold. they will just play until they freeze if I'd let them. So what temp do you just say Nope not going out today?

Depends on the wind but usually around 45 or so.

We don't go out to play if its 30 or less. Unless it snowed. Or if its 40 with wind.

We go out all the time. It doesn't really matter how cold it is cause we just bundle them up the colder it is. And then I watch to see if they look like they are getting cold and we come in to warm up a bit and then go back out.
Of course, when I have an itty bitty baby we wouldn't go out as much but we still did, I just made sure to keep them all bundled up.

We will still go outside if it is cold. If it is cold and super windy we won't.

We don't go to the park if it's uner 60. Sometimes not even then if there's a cold wind.
eta: a lot of that has to do with me not wanting to stand out in the cold too, lol.

If we have the jackets, gloves, hats, and all on them, I don't have a problem letting them go outside when it's 45 degrees, or colder. When it's snowed down here(which as you know is NOT often), I let them go outside, provided they had the right clothes and such on. But I do think that I would draw the line at 40 degrees if there was no snow.

If it's too cold for me, we don't go out. I don't want them to get sick, so we just play inside. It gets hotter than hell in the summer, but as long as she has a hat or sunscreen on, and I keep her hydrated and we take breaks in the shade we can stay out longer. Depends on if I'm sweating a lot when she gets older and can tell me what she wants then it'll change...for now go with your comfort levels.

I'm in NC and it can never be too cold for me and my kids. We throw on big winter coats, gloves, hats, etc and head on out and play. I LOVE cold weather. However, if it's above 80 outside, my butt will be sitting in the AC and DH can take the kids out. I HATE the heat.

45-50? I mean.. we would still go but not for a long time.
DD is usually outside in the backyard all day unless it's under 45, then she comes back inside a lot.

Under 30.
My kids aren't bothered by the cold.

It is 41 and sunny right now in TN. My 6 and 4 year old are outside riding bikes. They will come in if they get too cold. But with all thier cousins out of school I doubt I will see them until I bring them in for lunch. I think it is up to you to make that call.

I am the TOTAL opposite
You couldn't pay me to live somewhere where it snows again. Not even a million dollars. Smurf that. I hate cold weather.

It's very rare to see snow down here, but it has happened before. We had a hard frost last night(SO noticed it when the kids went out to get on the bus this morning).
