Teeth coming in the wrong order...
posted 18th Feb
DD's bottom two teeth came in at around 5 months, and we noticed yesterday, that she cut a new tooth on the top, but it doesn't look like one of her front two, the placement is wrong, it's one her lateral incisors. Either that, or her teeth are coming in wayyy crooked. From what I'm seeing/hearing from family, if it's her incisor, it's not normal for her teeth to come in that order.
I'm worried about it. When do you think we should take her to the dentist to find out? She's 7 months.

There is no specific order for teeth to come in. I mean yeah normally its the front teeth that come in first, but that doesn't mean anything if others come in first.

Just make an appt with the dentist and they should be able to answer any questions

I don't think you should worry, there's nothing you can do about it at this point. If you're concerned, call your pedi or just bring it up at your next appointment. I'm pretty sure no immidiate action/worry is necessary.

Teeth don't come in a certain order..
DS got his bottom teeth then eye teeth. His top teeth were way messed up but are straight now. He's 14months.

There's no real order. My cousin's child cut a molar first. It was super weird, but he's just fine.

There isn't a specific order that teeth are supposed to come in. My niece got her eye teeth before she got anything and she is perfectly fine. All of her teeth have come in now and they aren't crooked or anything.

They aren't 'supposed' to come in in any specific order. My pedi mentions it at every appointment. He said that many people are uninformed on this. There care charts saying what order teeth 'typically' come in, but there's absolutely no reason to worry if your baby's teeth come in in a different order.

I am a dental assistant and I will honestly tell you going to the dentist at that age will do nothing all we are able to do is look just like u do wayyy to small for an xray the film wont even fit in their mouth (and im sure wont let us try either) there is a chart of how teeth "typically" come in but its not always the standard for every child. Just a guideline. No worries sounds normal to me!
