Quoting Salad Fingers:" I think they should do the opposite, tbh. An airline specifically for adults. If they don't want to ... [snip!] ... I get that there are overpopulation issues and whatnot, but if everyone stopped having kids, that would make things worse."

Oh, the adult only thing is a great idea!!

I understand not having a child and hating being in a plane with a screaming kid sitting next to you the whole time, but smurf happens. Not everything in our life can be luxury and comfortable. There are way worse things (like being the parent of that screaming child)!

Recently I've read that they offer adult only flights on some airlines.

It's not necessarily kid-hate but the entitlement that some parents have in regards to children.

"I have kids so you should my kids above yourself" or something. Haven't you ever run across someone who is incredibly rude about something merely because they have a child and think they have the right of way in whatever it is they're doing?

Quoting SAFFY™:" I've never had an issue with my babies crying on airplanes.   It's not that difficult to give them a boob, bottle, or pacifier."

if anything, flight attendants should be instructed on how to help a baby "pop/clear" their ears, so they can share that info with parents if they don't already know it. It's very easy to help a child clear their ears. All they have to do is suck on something.

And no, it is not abuse in any way for a child / baby to ride on an airplane. I have flown internationally with my children since they were a few weeks old.

We have been flying since dd was 3 months old. She's been on 15 flights and she turns 1 next month. We have never had any issues with her. I had a flight attendant try to make me sit her up for take off and landing claiming it would help her ears. I just explained I was going to nurse her for takeoff and landing. She looked at me funny but was impressed she didn't cry at all. The only issues we've had have been with the bathrooms. Our last cross country flight they did not have a changing station and wanted me to still change her in the bathroom. I refused if other passengers weren't completely disgusting and could manage to do their business in the toilet like the adults they're supposed to be I would have changed her where they wanted me to. I find most people are very helpful especially if I am traveling alone. No passenger has ever complained they've only ever been impressed. I think a lot of the issues depend on the type of parent that's flying.

That is the stupidest thing I've heard all day. Sorry, if someone wants to bring their baby on a plane it is their business. They pay just like everyone else & if others don't like it then it is their problem.
My niece has flown over a dozen times and she's not even 2 yet. She's a good plane baby.

It's not abuse and how do you know they are in horrible pain? My six month old daughter was smiling and laughing the entire time. Not so much as a grunt of disapproval.

How silly! Nothing I am saying is any different from what everyone else has said but just think it is dumb to consider flying with kids abuse.

My daughter has been flying since she was 3 months old and I have had no problems with her.

People need to get over themselves and realize kids are everywhere.

My LO is 2 and she has been on 6 flights. We have never had a problem.

I think society is getting so weird about babies and children and it seems like there are these "elite" groups of people who think everything should be a luxury for them and any distractions should have to just go away for their comfort. I think those people need a Xanax and a reality check. Children HAVE to fly sometimes, who cares?

Quoting Piecey.:" ears needing to pop during ascension and descension"

If that's "abuse," then damn, I abuse my child every time we drive up into the mountains because our ears pop bad. That's such a silly reason to call "abuse!" Damn, people really have sand in their vaginas and penises, lol!
