Intelligender blew up.

posted 17th Feb
So, I took an Intelligender today and it blew up, literally. The lid blew off and the liquid splattered all over. I know they are just for fun and not the least bit accurate, but WTF. Has anyone else ever had one blow up on them?

Did you shake it instead of "swirling" it? That's weird.

Nope, swirled it just like it said, put it on the counter, and a few seconds later I heard a loud pop and the lid was on the floor and pee splattered all over the bathroom accompanied by a noxious chemical smell. It was actually pretty funny.

Googled it. Apparently this is a common problem. Contact them. They've been giving people another one. I'd stick it in the shower with the curtain pulled next time. LOL!

Good to know! I did send them an email so we'll see what happens. I've never had one blow up before and I hadn't heard of it happening either, not that I was looking before.

Not yet. I did a baking soda test a few days ago with no fizz, but Intelligender was the first test I bought this time. I'll probably try out a few others when I get paid on Friday.

The closest gender anything I've got to go on is there is supposedly evidence that your urine pH up until 8 weeks of pregnancy indicates gender (no idea if it's true or not). Both my boys the pH came back at 7-8 from the lab. This one came back at 5. I'm reserving judgment until I can find the study again that reported that. I think all these gender guessing things are fun, minus the whole splattered pee fiasco. LOL
