re: water breaking and temp question

Thats good to know that it's accurate!! I'm worried because I have no other symptoms other then a temp...

how much? you have very vague descriptions. did they do a blood test? 24 hour urine? what was your temp? blood pressure?

you went in.. and didn't like what they said.. either trust them, or go back in.

there could always be a false negative. CAll L&D and ask them what they want you to do

Have you taken your temperature very much during your pregnancy? Before I got my BFP, my temperature was around 100 - 100.5 and continued throughout my pregnancy (or whenever I thought to check it).

100 might be something to worry about, or it might not be.

Sorry, I don't mean to be vague.... my blood pressure for me is usually low... but lately has been in what a normal pregnancy range would be... it bounces, I went in had several bp checks one time I was 107/ 70? (I think thats what it was) then it jumped to 122/77 .... i'm only a plus 1 in protein... they haven't had me do the 24 hour urine. I haven't seen my doctor since all this started, I been to L&D because the nurse at my doctor's office sent me in... I was going to talk to him tomorrow about these issues... since I was sent home, they called it perfusion but then another nurse yesterday said onset of pre e so i'm just going to discuss tomorrow that issue with him....

The nurse checks it every time I go in for my NST's.... twice a week, and it's usually about 98. I've had a lot of issues with this pregnancy... it kind of sucks... but still happy to be pregnant... lol

Your blood pressure sounds fine. At 140/90 (for either number) is considered high.

Also, +1 measured once, could have been a faulty strip, I took one once (with a midwife we tested ourselves), the strip had just been left out too long before I used it.

Yeah it's normal, just for me i'm so used to being low... but I don't know if boys make a difference lol, with my girls and even after i've been low...and lately my bp has been higher than what mine is normally for me... if that makes sense... and that would be great if it was a faulty test for the protein.

If you are worried go back in, we can't diagnose you. Seriously. You don't want to risk infection if your water did break.

No, I meant if I don't have the onset of pre -e like the nurse said last night... if the protein was due to a bad strip. I know you can't do diagnose over the computer lol.... just wanted advice... i'm going to call over there and see what I should do. Thanks!!

Best bet is to call Labor and Delivery (Like previous posters have said) and be as DESCRIPTIVE as POSSIBLE. Water breaking can feel like urine, except when you try to 'hold' like when you're peeing, the fluid keeps coming. When mine broke, it was pink and soaked through a bathroom towel over the course of the few hours between it breaking and going to L&D. There was a lot of mucus in it by the time I got to the hospital. HTH
