Creams/Oils for preventing stretch marks

posted 10th Jun
I am definitely prone to stretch marks. Both of my sisters got them with their pregnancies as did my mom. I eat pretty well and I drink lots of water plus I lather up with Cocao butter twice a day. But I am wondering if there is a cream or oil that any of you have had luck with? My DH's cousin (who is a size 2 w/ 2 kids and never had any stretch marks) said to use belly balm and while searching online for that I found a website with some organic stuff that looked promising (earthmamaangelbaby.com). What do you all use to prevent stretch marks?

I just found the Curel Pregnancy Cream. Its AWESOME! I have tried the palmers stuff, and it reeks like ass and doesn't work. Also, bio oil didn't work for me either. I started using the Curel stuff at 30 weeks when I noticed I was getting stretch marks, and I haven't gotten any since. I love it!

I'm in the same boat as you, unfortunately there isn't anything that can prevent them... it's 95% genetic. but you can lessen how badthey look by doing exactly what your doing... caoco butter is good, so is Vit E Creams..I'd recommend saving your money and getting some cream after to lighten them.. but thats just me

You can't eliminate stretch marks completely using a cream, especially since you're genetically predisposed to get them. However using a lotion with Vitamin E will help less the intensity and sometimes the amount of stretchmarks.

Sadly, stretchmarks are genetic.. I have used EVERYTHING, Bio Oil, Palmers, Vitamin E capsuls, Curel Pregnancy Creme.. Nothing worked!! And I didn't get mine until about 30 weeks so I thought I was going to be in the clear!

That's what I'm afraid of! Lol. But I guess I'll lather up just in case, maybe it will at least lessen the amount I get, maybe...

Well good luck! In my case it didn't help that my mom LIED to me about getting stretchies! At first she told me she didn't ever get any so I was happy with my cute, smooth belly. Then when I noticed my first one and told her about it, she admitted she got a lot of them, but they faded really well!! I was soo pissed at her!

I love this stuff! Its silky and doesnt feel really sticky and wet like the palmers did. I'm 22 weeks and no stretch marks yet!

Lol, I know what you mean. I'm still waiting for my mom to tell me that she had her breasts done...I used to always wonder whymy sis and I never developed like she did...until I got my dad tospill the beans that shehad hers "done" when we were kdis. Lol. But she couldn't hide the stretch marks. They were a little bit harder to hide seeing as they did not fade so well.

I love it too! I have always gotten stretch marks. When I went through puberty I got them all over my boobs, thighs and ass. When I started to get my preggo stretch marks I got nervous, bc I didn't want to get a million of them like I've had before. But I started using the Curel stuff and I don't know what happened - but I haven't had another stretch mark since. My skin feels so bouncy and resilient! Its great. I still have about 6 more weeks left, so we'll see what happens, but I'm happy so far.
