1yr old and appetitie

My son just turned 1 last month. He is at normal weight and height for his age (21lbs, 31in). However - this kid NEVER wants to stop eating, especially at meal times. He will eat so much, throw up from eating so much, and continue to want to eat. If SO and I are eating.. he will throw a giant fit, throw himself on the ground kicking and screaming.. because he wants to eat even if he has already eaten.

SO and I can't seem to agree on boundaries for his food intake. I worry about him becoming overweight constantly (I was an overweight child and I don't want him to have to go through what I went through growing up). SO says I am ridiculous and that if he is hungry I should feed him no matter the amount. That's just it though - I KNOW he isn't hungry! He just doesn't know when to stop, even after he throws up.

Anyone have a child like this? How do you deal with it? Any tips?
