I don't think anybody who answered this thread has had a homebirth, only hospital births. So it isn't very helpful.

but if its something that she can handle, then how is it a risk? i didnt ask for opinions i asked for experience from others who have been threw it.

I think a lot of the ladies that answered on this thread have had issues and thats probably why they feel as if they should warn a mother.

But you said she thinks she can. And lets face it you can ask all you want for experiences but most of what you'll get is opinions, you cant control that.

hey, that's fine. but there are still ways she could have a homebirth & be safe, she doesn't have to go to a hospital, that's all *shrug*

im fully aware of the risks of gbs, ive done my homework on it. as a mother of almost 5 i would never put any of my kids in harms way. as far as what i found in doing my own research, the advise of my midwife and even my last ob that i had with my last child, gbs isnt as big of a deal as its made out to be. yes it can cause issues if not treated, but my midwife plans on treating me, but in a natural way vs. medical intervention. i was even told by my last ob, that as long as baby is healthy and term, the actual risk is very low.

Good luck, home births are amazing, and even better, athome water births!
I don't know anything about your issues but just wanted to wish you all the best

And awesome you trust your Mw 100%, too many people think they know more than the people who are trained in this.

But its still there is enough of a risk as to where I personally feel it wouldnt be done if it were me. I didnt say you absolutly said you have to I said I dont think the risk are worth it.

I agree with the other ladies, it is a risk to your unborn baby. If I were you I would change my mind and deliver in the hospital. Your babies life isat risk for serious complicatiions from this. If your midwife is unable to treat it properly while you are giving birth then she does not deserve to have her liscence or to even practice this kind of thing. If you were living in the state that I am child welfare would take your baby because they consider that to be child neglect and abuse since you are fully aware of the compications that can occur with this birth.

i never once said she was unable to treat it. i wont be changing my mind lol thanks. and i highly doubt it would be considered child abuse, it would only be considered child abuse or neglect if i didnt have a health care provider. so please before you go spewing info, make sure its correct!  !
