Splat hair color (not the bleach part)

posted 17th Feb
How long should I leave it in?

Last time I used it I think I left it in for an hour and it still washed out fairly quickly.

Make sure your buying the semi permanent and not the temporary. My daughter leaves hers in for a couple hours and it lasts months. You should also use a color safe shampoo

It doesn't matter. There's no ammonia in it, it won't process in your hair after a certain point, even if you leave it in 24 hrs.

I leave it in about 30 minutes and it's always bright.

My mom always leaves hers in 45 minutes to an hour and it lasts her a few months, make sure you're using a color shampoo and that should help keep the color a little longer.

It stops processing after a certain amount of time, so even if you leave it in for hours eventually it will no longer be doing anything. Colors like that do fade really fast though, so you just have to make sure you are using a shampoo for color treated hair to help the color last a little longer.

I have bed head for blonde hair because i bleached it months ago would that work?

Honestly I don't wash my hair all that much so I have a lot left. I feel like I shouldn't have bought it because it was soo expensive.

Sulfate free shampoo will work best, I believe dumb blonde has sulfates.

I alternate between its a 10 & big sexy hair (they now have sulfate free.shampoo)

I dilute mine with water to spread more and leave it for hours or over night. Best brand imo over manic panic & beyond the zone.

Why do you dilute it with water?

You should try pravana. Best semi permanent fun colors hands down.

Just a little because it goes a longer way. Idk.

edit: just my opinion is its too thick to cover evenly but it dries on your head enough that I personally feel it sticks better and more evenly that way but I do leave it on a very long time

Yeah. I put it in a bowl and make it more like... actual hair dye I guess? Just a tad thinner and put it everywhere with the brushes and I put a bag on my head and leave it until I feel comfortable with it. I know it says leave it 30min to an hour but as long as it's not chemically processing there is no reason you have to leave it on for such a short time kwim? I just let my hair soak it all up. Lol. And I just use shampoo and conditioner for colored hair from my moms salon.

Sulfates are what strip color. Check the ingredients.

I used L'oreal's EverPure line and had to redye about every 6 weeks.
