How old is too old to adopt? IYO

I would still like to adopt here soon... but i'm also 37 and won't be able to have more kids after this baby, in your opinion how old is to old to start on an adoption journey?

I think it depends on the agency you go through.

37 years old is not old at all.

I dont know, it honestly depends. I personally dont want anymore children or adopt any children after I'm 40 but thats just me.

I would say maybe like 55? as long as you're healthy I think it would be okay.

I really think it should depend on the individual/couple. People feel differently at different ages.

I agree. You're only 37! You're still young!
Hell, my mom didn't even get pregnant with my youngest sister until she was 39.

Too old as in the age off the kid or age of the parents?

Parents age, I think too old is like late 60s.
Kids age, any age! I would adopt a 17yr old kid,

Never, so long as you have an open heart and reasonable health.

Particularly adopting an older child. When adopting a younger, you kind of have to make sure that physically, you can do it, because it is a lot of running around. lol

It depends. If you're 87 and want to adopt a newborn, I don't think that's a great idea. If you're 60 and want to adopt a teenager, go for it!. I wouldn't adopt if I expected to die before the child turned 18 and/or I felt I was too old to keep up with the kid.

My parents adopted my brother in their late 30s and it worked out very well for us. IMO as long as you aren't going to get too old to care for them while they still need you to care for them then your not too old.

If you are considering an international adoption there is sometimes an age limit for when you start the process. Other than that I say if you are healthy and open any age is fine. Adoption is awesome.
