I have been trying to get my records from my old doctor since MARCH
The records lady was in constant contact with me, got whole of her immediately, she e mailed me the release forms, I e mailed them back, she said I needed to mail a $5 check, I did.. and now they refuse to respond to me by phone or e mail!
Luckily I wasn't pregnant though, that s insane! Will the other Dr not see you without your records??

Why didn't you get a copy of your records before you moved?

He isn't supposed to as far as I have been told. I signed another release form to give to them in case they just want the dr to fax it straight to them, but they are dragging their butts getting it to me. The lady at my new dr has been really great, talking me through everything and hopefully she can get me in anyways...

Tried. The release form I signed before I even planned on moving is the one they lost.

I went to a new doctor in my last pregnancy around 16 weeks and it was only a town away and that's what I did lol. Makes it so much easier.

I was supposed to get them before I moved but they didn't send them in time so when I moved the address I wanted them to send it to didn't change (Hubbys moms address) but then they lost the release form so I had to sign a new one after I was already here.

All you had to do was ask them for your records. When I switched, I think I signed something right then and got my records before I even left. (from what I remember)

You should have went into the office, signed the release, paid whatever fee you needed to pay and walked out with your records.

Your should have got your own records. And your doctor isn't doing anything wrong, you sound really stupid. You can't sue for malpractice when you and your fetus are both alive lol

Actually yes I can because I DID sign at their office in December to get them sent to my new doctor and they never sent them, and I have signed yet another one but they still have not sent them. I'm 38 weeks, they also know that, and if I deliver without having a doctor down here, then they get all the money from Medicaid for being the last doctor to see me. If something is wrong with me or my Child at the time of birth, then legally it is their fault because I have done everything I possibly can to get my records, and they are just refusing to send them. And without them, no other doctor can/will see me. Plus, add on the fact that he never once offered any kind of tests at the beginning, middle, or near the end of the time I saw him. (Meaning like the D.S. test or strep B, nothing) and as a matter of fact, didn't even do a pap smear at the beginning I had to remind him the next 2 visits. All he ever did was check the heart beat, try to tell me I was going to be induced and have a epidural, (even though I repeatedly said no), and then sent me home. Never asked what symptoms I was having, never offered advice or medication, never even asked if I was taking pre-natal!

So yeah, their asses are getting sued. I'm not the first patient he's done this to, but I guarantee you he won't get away with it. I've done my research and homework, and everything he has and has not done, gives grounds for being sued.
It's their fault, and I'm not stupid.

Lol good luck with that. You have zero grounds to sue for malpractice, it is YOUR fault you didn't take care if it in advance. You have the option to pay for yourself or visit a women's clinic free of charge for a prenatal visit. You are incredibly misinformed.

What a waste of the courts time and a waste of money on a lawyer...
