18 wks almost 19 and feeling self conscious

posted 17th Feb
I was trying to pic up something to wear to my baby's b-day party and baptism which is next week. But everything makes me look FAT not pregnant. So I ended up depressed and not buying anything. My sister said no to all the dresses I tried on so I just fEel fat and horrible.

Leggings and a cute top have been my go to this pregnancy. Its like I was stuck in fat phase so much longer the second pregnancy..

Just get some looser fitting stuff.. I used to always wear tight clothes but went up a size in tops because everything I wore from before was tight around my belly and made me feel fat (they still fit me, but you could see my belly easier.. now I'm just in the maternity clothes stage). But I know the feeling, the "UGH when is my prego belly just gonna show already?!" feeling, and thinking everyone's looking at you like, "Hahah, her gut is bigger than mine!" But just keep telling yourself you're pregnant! You're carrying your little angel and your body's gonna do what it needs to do to provide a healthy and safe home for that baby until it's time for him/her to come out.

Quoting Mom2 a princess & 1 on th:" All my clothes fit but I look like I am just getting a huge stomach as in food stomach not cute belly,,,,some ... [snip!] ... people seriously don't even know or believe I am almost 5 months pregnant especially since my bby just trned one yesterday."

That was my problem in the beginning.. they all fit but I didn't like how my belly looked in em. I either just kept wearing what I had and suffered or went up a size in shirts to make my belly look less big, but I mostly just suffered because I didn't see the point in going up a size in regular clothes when I knew I'd be needing maternity clothes soon enough. I'm 23 weeks and you can definitely tell I'm pregnant, but my last pregnancy I was in the "fat stage" for a while.. it wasn't cute and I hated it.

I wore a lot of my summer dresses or tunic tops with a cardigan over it and with leggings and boots. I still do at 37 weeks! It's the most comfortable and when your barely starting to show it covers the bulge that just looks like a bloated belly lol.
