What's normal bp?
posted 17th Feb
AT&T last appt mine was 130/70. Is that high? I've never been that high on top.

No, its not high.

It's within normal limits. Norm is 120/80, but it really all depends on your baseline. My norm is 100/60.

Normal is 120/70ish. They don't normally start worrying until it's over 140/90
quoteposted 17th Feb
140/90 is considered high blood pressure but there is a pre hypertension stage which is like 135/80

Thats normal. Mine was just at 140/78, and they told me they wernt worried about it because the bottom number is still low, even though I have had low BP this whole pregnancy.

Ok. I've felt like smurf lately lightheaded and dizzy sometimes after I eat. Almost sick to my stomach and sometimes hot flashes. I feel like this into first trimester too. I have to have my iron checked Monday but I'm thinking its not that.

Blood sugar, maybe? Are you eating enough protein? Drinking enough water?

Ya I drink a lot and eat normally but I'm thinking it might be GD creeping in late this time. That's the only other thing I can think of.

Or it could be perfectly normal. I'm dizzy and light-headed all the time. All mytests have come back fine. It's just part of pregnancy for some.

Ugh it's killing me. I feel helpless. I expect it in my first 11wks but never this late. Plus I have pregnancy vision change that decided to start up a couple days ago. Gets worse when I'm light headed. Lovely.

it could be due to pregnancy or the early stages of pre-eclampsia go get checked bcuz when I was that way I needed a 24 hr urine test nd it came back I had the 1st stages of pre-eclampsia. I'd get checked just to be save

Even if my bp isn't high and no protien in urine?
quoteposted 17th Feb
I'm almost positive it can't be diagnosed as Pre-E without protein in your urine. That's one of the 2 requirements, rising BP and protein in your urine. If you don't have protein in your urine, it's just regular hypertension. 130/70 isn't high bp, so it's not even that.
When my blood sugar is high, i normally feel sleepy, thirsty, and a bit sluggish. When my blood sugar is low, i normally get black spots in the middle of my eyes. My heart races, i get dizzy. I feel nauseous. High blood sugar is a lot more subtle than low blood sugar.
When i felt like you were describing, it was either just pregnancy related stuff or anemia which i had off and on while i was pregnant. My high risk dr actually recommended a cup of coffee during the afternoon (which is when it normally happened) to help. For the most part it worked, but i didn't feel completely normal until i had the baby.
