Pink Eye!
posted 17th Feb
If it's not one thing, its another. I have pink eye! So gross. I am such a clean person. I've never had it before. Ugh. On top of that, I've had a sinus infection for 9 days and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
So anyways, I am BFing my 6 day old son. What do I do? Is there safe antibiotics I can take while BFing a newborn? Any at home treatment? I'm tempted to put breastmilk in my eye. Would that help? I've been taking a low dose Antibiotic that was prescribed while I was in the hospital after the birth of my son (Wednesday I started them twice a day). There are no signs of getting better, if anything, I am way worse. My throat hurts so bad that I can barely swallow, I've been using a neti pot a few times a day for a few days. Idk what else to do. Am I going to have to stop breastfeeding my son so I can shake this eye and sinus infection?

When my ex had pink eye, I put breast milk in his eyes and it helped clear it up. He never even went to the dr

Sinus infections will clear up on their own. I would do a sinus rinse 2x a time and use a humidifier. As for the pink eye you could try breastmilk. It is suppose to cure pink eye.

I'd try breastmilk in the eye... good luck.

I'd try the breastmilk in your eye.. or do nothing. Pink eye will go away on it's own eventually. My son just had it & it lasted for a week. It was hell. Make sure to wash your hands all the time so you don't spread it to the baby.

i would try the breastmilk, i've heard it helps, but have never tried it myself.
but.... when i did have pink eye once and no insurance, i treated it with contact lens solution, lol. i put it into my eyes like you would the drops you'd get from the dr. you just have to be careful now because they make that new kind of lens solution that has hydrogen peroxide in it and you can't put that into your eye.... so... also, when i had it once and was able to go to the dr, they said it could be bacterial or viral. so, sometimes it starts out viral, like from a cold or sinus infection or something and then it turns bacterial...? idk. i don't really understand it all, but that's what they said. so it could have happened due to the sinus thing you had going.
good luck!

Thanks everyone. I just hand expressed and put some breastmilk in my eye. How often can I do that? I guess it doesn't matter since breastmilk is the cure of all cures. Now if only I could shoot breastmilk up in my sinuses. Lol
