C-section questions

If you choose to have a c-section, do you have to schedule it early? Can you do it ON your EDD? Can you wait until you go into labor naturally and then have one done? TIA

Most doctor's won't let you "Choose" to have a c-section if one isn't medically required.
Usually they like to do them a week before the due date though.

I already had one with my first LO. I don't know if I'll be able to do a VBAC but I don't.want to have another early baby.

If you find a supportive Dr of vbac..they'll schedule it after or on your edd (if you don't go into labor) .but most drs want to schedule it a week before. My ob is letting me do this one at 39w2d. He wanted to do it at 38w5d..but my sons bday is a few days after that so we scheduled it the day after.
Of.course its ultimately up to you..you can deny having it done at 39weeks.

My first was a scheduled c-sec at 37 weeks. We failed at bfing, had PPD, trouble bonding, etc. I want to try to go as long as possible with.my next.

They won't schedule you earlier than 39 weeks unless there is a medical emergency. They will not let you go into labor first. Well, not intentionally. If you go into labor before the scheded date that can't be helped.

Sorry to hear that!
But yes..you can refuse to set a date! Its your pregnancy..your baby. Don't let the doctors make you think you don't have a say in anything.
