the nursery. Pointless post about painting

So I've been working on painting this stupid room for almost a month now. Finally done with the basic wall colors. 3 pink walls, 1 black. I need to touch up the black wall a little bit, but I'm going to wait because I plan on painting a music staff with my DD's name and a couple music notes plus the changing table (all black), and I don't feel like washing out the stupid paint brush anymore. Truthfully, I could leave everything as it is now, but it just feels so basic. Doesn't match my vision and all that bs. I'm sick of painting now. But of course, now my 5yo son wants his room to be blue with Spiderman on the walls.
The room took waaaay too long mostly because there's a whole boatload of stuff in her room, and trying to manuever a chair and a box with the paint on top was just too hard.
I had a friend offer to come help paint, and she got paint EVERYWHERE! the ceiling, the window (the wood around it) the floor, the closet...I NEVER want another person to help me paint again. Tomorrow, I get to scrub the floor and window, and find the white paint for the ceiling and closet...

Eek on the friend "helping"! Don't know what to say regarding what you're doing as far as stopping now or future additions. Sounds way too complicated for me to try to paint with things in the room or to do something like a staff with name, Good luck.


We just finished painting semi-gloss/matte alternating stripes of same color daffodil yellow in our nursery, but we moved EVERYTHING out.

I hate painting. But I painted DS whole room in two hours ha.. now DD wants her walls painted  

She volunteered! I was just talking about painting and she's all like, "oh, when you start, I'll come over and help you" we got most of it done, but then I started paying attention to her and I had to stop...Couldn't watch her without wanting to correct her. AND she kept shaking the paint roller to get the excess paint off....I'm sitting there thinking "OMG, she's splattering paint all over the place.." she got pink paint all over the black wall which is why I have to touch it up now

What theme is the room? Just wondering.

I never accept help for painting... I'm too much of a perfectionist.... I have some issues. lol

I've already made a pattern for the music staff, just need to go to my mom's school and blow it up and cut it out....It won't be hard once I have my stencil..

I'm doing a music theme. Getting black music notes on white fabric to make curtains...It's a bubble gum pink, so to make shopping easier, I've decided it's like a ballerina/music theme...More music than ballet though.

It's a small wall with the door into the bedroom on it, I'm putting the crib on that wall with a pink canopy type thing....I just didn't want a pink canopy on a pink wall....Didn't see the point of it, but also didn't want white since I'm making the music notes black

My daughter had a black wall when she was 2  
It was chalkboard paint.
Absolutely nothing wrong with 1 black wall

Someone suggested that I use chalkboard paint, but I don't think we'll be in this house when DD turns 1, much less when she might be ready to doodle on walls.

we painted it before she was able too. She didn't get to draw too much by time we moved. But friends and family always drew her adorableeeee pictures  
I would love to have a nursery like this. I love birds...

that's so cute...I can't wait to finish this dumb room so I can take pictures of the finished product. Want it done before the 3rd of March, so I can have pictures of the room at my shower...
