My Ride 65

posted 16th Feb
I posted a car seat thread recently, but I have another question. I've been thinking of getting the My Ride 65, or something comparable for my daughter. It forward faces up til 65 pounds, right? I want a car seat that I can get some life out of it. My kids will be about 4 years apart, so I could use the My Ride for the infant when he/she gets bigger, and just buy my daughter a booster when it's time. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

I have the my ride and LOVE IT. It was great when the baby was an infant too! I extended rear faced so that worked perfect for me.

I have the Radian, and I love it FF to like 80 pounds or something.

I got it when it was Sunshine Kids, but it is now Diono.

It is expensive but I feel well worth it, then again my daughter is in the higher percentiles and from what I read she would have outgrown the My Ride 65 quickly.

I have the my ride 65 and I like it but it's just so big. I really want to get something smaller.

My son has always been 85th percentile and up so I decided against it because of that but I think it's a great seat. We went with the Britax frontier 85 for him and it has great life but its a ff only seat but it harnesses to 85 then booster to 100. If your son/daughter is on the petite side the Graco is a great option!

Yeah, she's 3.5 and about 30 pounds. She hasn't gained any weight in 6 months. I guess that's petite?

I wanted the my ride 65 too for my daughter but the way we have our carseats in my trailblazer. I wouldn't be able to put the middle seat down to get the boys in and out. I got the graco head wise 70 instead and love it.

I have the my ride 65 for our son and I like it! We have been having an issue lately with the bottom buckle getting stuck, almost like something sticky got into it. He has never eaten or drank in the car so I'm not sure what has caused that, but sometimes its harder to unbuckle and then other times it's back to normal- so weird. I plan on calling Monday about it....

It is pretty big but it fits very well in my equinox. He has been in it since he was 8 months and he has no issues at all with it! I think it would be a great idea for your daughter to use it and then switch the new baby to it. It will save you some money. And you were right it goes up to 65 FF and I believe 40 RF. My son is petite at the moment and is only 21 lbs so he will be RF for awhile!

Look at the graco headwise (target only)

It's pretty cheap and will last you way longer than the myride

Someone else suggested this as well. Does it RF? I'd like to be able to use it when the baby outgrows the infant carrier.

Yes it rear faces to 40 lbs. My daughter is 22lbs and is rear facing in it.
