Quoting Meg ♥:" Don't feel bad, really, but I kind of felt the same way. DD is 6 yrs old and just this past month or ... [snip!] ... and if that doesn't seem to help get the advice from a doctor maybe some OT would help. Is she in kindergarten or preschool?"

Hm, is this her first year in a structured school setting?

Sometimes it's just an adjustment. Does she hold the pencil properly or is her hold more of a fist hold?

Okay! That's great! So you know she can at least trace the letters, great step.

Try something a bit more fun now. Maybe shaving cream. Something like this:

Or this is another idea: "Fill a freezer sized zip-lock bag with paint and tape the top closed . Have your child use q-tips to write words or letters in the paint. " You can also add some glitter to make it sparkly!

These ideas may keep her attention for a little bit longer.

Year 0 is just the new way of saying new enterence lol.
Maybe bribe her with treat lol? If she does her whole name?
The important thing is don't get frustrated with it, otherwise she'll act like its a chore. And won't want to do it. She's just learning at her own pace. Try to encourage her to do little bits often rather than a big session in one go.
Is her teacher nice? Correspond with her teacher often too so you know how she's doing in class and her teacher knows how things are going at home
