40 weeks and still waiting.

I got my membranes stripped yesterday. And I don't think much has happened to help labor along. I was bleeding a little bit but other than that, no contractions, no nothing. Its pretty sad overall. I just want him here and I am scared that I may have to be induced and I don't want that. I know there is nothing you can honestly do to help bring labor on but what happens if I do want to be induced and I don't want to be can I say no.

When I had mine stripped I think I started to lose my mucus plug the next day...it does not always help things along...When is your next Dr. appt...can you talk to them about your preferances about induction and see how long you can safely wait for sweet babe to arrive?

Give it some morr time. One of my friends had it done and if I remember right it took 2 days for timeable contractions and had baby girl on day 3.

Your last sentence was quite confusing, so I'm not quite sure what you're asking. However, I'll just tell you what I was told and hope it helps. With my second child I was still pregnant at right about 41 weeks. I went to the doctor (who had asked me about 2 weeks earlier if I wanted to be induced, I said no) and he said that if I didn't go into labor within about 2 more days they wanted to induce me. The risk of the baby passing meconium and aspirating it largely increases, and the placenta can also start to deteriorate. I got lucky and went into labor the next day on my own. Obviously, they weren't gonna chase me down and tackle me to force me to induce if i went a few days later, but I probably would have been on my own as far as risk goes since I ignored the doctors recommendations.

Just be patient. You don't need to agree to an induction if you don't want one. You can wait until labor starts naturally and that could be another few weeks. It's not uncommon for first time moms to go passed due. My first baby came at 42 weeks exactly and my second at 41. As long as they are monitoring you and baby with no stress tests and what not, you can safely wait it out. There is even a momma on here who didn't go into labor with her first until 44 weeks. You am say pregnant forever, he's got to come eventually.
You can always try to old stand-bys to get things started: walking, sex, spicy food, pineapple, etc. with my second i went to a Zumba class the night before I went into labor and then walked to a restaurant for dinner, spicy pine apple tai chicken, and walked home and followed all that with some wild sex. I woke up the next morning at 5 am having mild contractions. She was born at 6:18 that night.

However, if they recommend it and u decline.. if sonething happens to your baby.. you cant blame the dr. (From what I have heard anyway. )

I'm in the same boat, I'm due monday, but my first due day was yesterday and still no baby. I just mopped my entire house to help things along and now I'm gonna go for a walk. Hopefully something happens soon. My doctor already told me if I don't have the baby this week, we're setting an induction for next week.

I really am not okay with an induction unless it will harm me or the baby then I am totally okay with that. I also have been losing some of my mucus plug so maybe day three will be lucky and I will see him before an induction date. I hope so. I am very scared over all about being induced and would prefer to have it natural. So lets hope everything works out that way in the end.

Same boat as you. I've been having sex, walking, nipple stimulation. A few contractions here and there but nothing to get excited over.

Yea its pretty upsetting. I don't know what to do. I guess overall I am going to have to wait it out and just let nature take its course.

Oh goodness. I hope he doesn't stay in there that long. I am 40 weeks and 3 days at this point in time. And I have a doctors apointment on Friday. Also my mother is coming on Sunday to meet the baby and he still hasn't arrived. Just so my mommy can see her first grandbaby I may go get induced on Monday of next weeks so her visit wasn't wasted. Lets just hope he comes on his own before than. He has about 5 days.

Oh wow lol. That is funny but if he's not here I have to get induced. Which makes me sad but its for my mom overall so she doesn't waste here money and can meet her grand baby. Otherwise I would totally still be pregnant for as long as possible unless there were any complications. I hope you have your baby soon

Thank you. Luckily my family lives down the street so they'll bug me until he is here. Hope your LO comes on his own.
