Cat owners

What does a cat in heat act like? I haven't had one for a very LONG time. I got my cat from the humane society and they said she was fixed. She's just been acting very strange lately... The last couple of days she comes inside and wants her back rubbed she always has her ass stuck in the air like she wants to be mounted. It's freaking me out lol. Is this just something they do? TIA

They make outrageous noises during the night. lol and they put their ass all up in your face or lay down on their back with their bellies showing.

ugh yes..and its soooo annoying..they make noises like a baby, or just annoying meows. butt up in the air like you said. super affectionate. mine sprayed alot on the walls when she was in heat..so get her fixed!

That's what I'm saying she IS fixed. I got her from the humane society lol. She's just acting weird so I thought I would ask.

When my cat went into heat for the first time I thought she was dying because she was being so nice lolol. Butt in the air rubbing against things, ridiculous noises

It sounds like she's in heat.

They said mine was fixed too. And the first month we had her, she was walking around making cat calls ALL NIGHT outside of the girls room. And now, she's bleeding little drops here and there. >.< Fixed my ass!

IF she's not bleeding though or spraying, she might just have some tissue left in that they left behind while spaying her. It apparently causes them to act like they are in heat. They need to go in and take that out and I was told it should stop most if not all of that.

I have to work today and tomorrow but I will definitely give them a call on Monday and make them check it out. I can't afford to feed a cat and kittens too. Thanks ladies!

ooohh okay gotchya. i got my cats fixed at the humane society too. every so often she acts a little in-heatish and thats and someone told me some pieces could be left behind or something like that. I wont trust the humane society anymore. both my cats came home so sick after their surgeries. But i undertstand you got her from there. good for you though for rescueing a kitty =)

yeah that's what a few of the other members said too. The one I got her from is a no kill shelter and then we have another one about 30 minutes away is the Humane Society; last time I got a cat from there it was super sick. I didn't go back there. She really is a cool cat but lately she just likes to stay outside more and her ass in the air got me thinking. I will be calling them Monday. It hasn't even been a year since I had her and they will fix her lol

My two are done and both of them had 'heats' the first season after they were done, its not a problem and wont do any harm just let them ride it out x it only happened once for the oldest and twice for the younger one and they are definitely done
