BD behind on CS ???

I know places are different but how long does your BD have to get behind in child support for the state to take care of it and make him pay or he goes to jail? Also does anyone know how long it has to be with him having no contact with the kids until I can go to court and fight to get his rights?

I live in colorado and BD lives in new york. He's 24,000 ish behind and they haven't done anything, we've been going to court for over a year and all they do is give him extensions. But I've heard that ny doesn't enforce cs very well

and why would you want him in jail?! that proves nothing...other than he cant work...so cs wont be paid still

apparently in mn CS is NOT enforced on women ...DH baby mama is behind ohh 60k...and they refuse to enforce it they told DH ...exact words, "get over it shell never pay!"

my childs father was behind about 5000 when he got dent to jail for it. he didnt pay any thing in over a year which is why enforcement court sent him for a contempt hearing before a judge. he didnt go to jail though, his mom paid the 2000 for him to get out. go to one of hi enforcement hearings as request a contempt hearing before a judge. enforce does nothing but gives them more chances not to pay

I'm in TX. After 3 months of him not paying they held a hearing to find out why. He didn't show or call so they sent out a bench warrant (which was NEVER followed thru with). And then they started garnishing his wages. I get like $45 or so randomly when he decides to get a job for a bit that doesn't pay him under the table  
DD is 3 and I've gotten CS maybe 6 times, but never the amount we agreed on, just what they could garnish. Last year they took his entire tax return and sent it to me.

Other than that, nothing happens to him. They could arrest him but they won't, he's in a different state, and they have murderers and rapist to catch, not dead beat dads, that's what they tell me

It makes them realize they ARE accountable for something. They have a responsibility that they can't ignore anymore. No one wants to go to jail so it's usually a motivation for them to just pay, but some need to be slapped in the face with jail time FIRST to get off their ass.

I never once said I wanted him in jail here if you don't pay they will put you in jail. I just wondered when they will inforce that so maybe it will scare him( and trust me it will) so maybe he will finally pay it

if he does go to jail & starts working as a trustee then they will take his pay (its not much) and give that to the mother for child support. Or they may offer him work release which they will also take for his child support

there are other things to do that...going to jail hurts everyone...him who cant work then...the mom and the child...there is NO point to it...just to show them they are accountable...i think the man knows that when he finds out he is the father...but some men never wanted that child so why should they be held accountable for what the woman decided? she chose to keep that child he had NO say! this happens far too often and its sickening...a woman has choices!! abortion adoption and keeping the baby...the man has NO rights!

oh thank goodness! so many women on here dont agree with what i said...ive said it before...it just makes no sense...like no logical sense!
