Your BFP reaction.

posted 16th Feb
Just for fun-what was your instant reaction to your BFP's? Tell a story if you wish.

My first was excitement-we'd only tried to get pregnant for one cycle and I couldn't believe it happened so fast. I cried a little (had a miscarriage months before) and immediately texted my closest friends.

With this pregnancy-it was udder shock. We'd been using a mix of the timing and pullout method (we definitely knew the chances of conceiving) and it worked for like 2 months. On a whim, before drinking alcohol I decided to test the day AF was due. A light positive. I took an EPT-a BFP! I was in total shock because Id been convinced the month before I was pregnant but wasnt, and this moth I didnt think I was at all-I show signs early and I wasnt having any signs. After the shock set in, like 5 minutes later I was thrilled and showed DH the test.

We had been trying for like 10 months and my dr ordered a pregnancy test at the hospital lab.
After I gave them my sample DH and I waited in the waiting room and when the tech came out and said it was positive the only thing I could say was "it is??" Lol
Then we called MIL in the car and told her she was gonna be a grandma

With dd i was super excited we had been trying for five months. We jumped around and were giddy and told everyone asap.

With ds i took the test then ran out of the bathroom and showed my husband as he was walking out the door for work. We kept it a secret and i was very scared since we had six losses and had been trying for two abd a half years.

With the first it was "smurf". With number 2 we had been trying for only one cycle and for me it was "oh crap what did I do?!" for DH it was "really?!? That's awesome baby!" and for number three it was a surprise so I cried and called DH to tell him. I was obviously upset abou it and he was so excited. Just kept saying "this is good news baby, this is good news".

So for every pregnancy, intended or not, my reaction was not positive and my husband's was excitement.

We tried for almost 3 years to get pregnant with my daughter. After many m/c we just let it be. And boom when we stopped "trying" there she was! We were stoked. This baby was what my husband calls a peek a boo, he was extremely unexpected, but just as loved :] Concieved when my daughter was only 1!

The first time I took like 20 test and was in complete shock. We we're still in high school and had been using protection. I had a miscarriage though.

Then with DD I thought I was coming down with something. I was so sick all the time. My mom told me I should take a pregnancy test and I told her she was crazy. I was on the patch, i wasn't pregnant. WELL 3 tests later and it was for sure. Lol I freaked out a little because SO and I weren't together at the time (same guy as the first pregnancy), but it all worked out. DD will be 4 this summer and we're getting married next year.

My first I took it at my moms, I was a week late and the test I took wa negative so she bought be 2 more test. As soon as I took it instant positive. Then I waited and thought hmm maybe it was a fluek so I took a second and positive. I started crying saying I knew it. Then my mom was crying. I then called my SO and he didn't believe me at all. But when he heard that I was crying he believed me. After the initial crying I got over the fear and was happy, and thank god so was every one else lol.

My second I had been tracking my period and I ended up being 3 days late I decided to test. SO was at the gym and DS was playing so I took the test. Sat it ok the counter walked to the living room and played with DS for a few min. Went back an it was positive. I called SO and told me. I didn't know of I was excited or sad or scared. I've never in my life had so many emotions at one time. I called my mom and she was so happy ! So knowing that she wasnt mad or my dad wasnt mad it sunk in and I was over the roof excited.

And here I am today 15 weeks pregnant with a 19 month old son!

I might add I had the same "smurrrrf" reaction for my friend a couple of years ago. She passed out at work and I was her Emerg. Contact so when i got to the hospital they were getting ready to read her the results. We looked at each other and sad it at the same time lol.

I didn't believe it. I brought the test out to DH and got out the directions. He was like "we are having a baby!" And we both started crying. As he came to hug me I grabbed my phone and called my mom. I could hardly get the words out ;).
