huh? I don't understand most of this. I agree shes too young... but maybe in your area the above is true. I had a lisence at 16.. many states that is legal driving aga. My best friend in HS had a job as a teller at 16. While she certainly did NOT make enough to support a baby... it was not Mcdonalds.. and that's not the only place that will hire a 16 year old. 16 can hold many jobs.

OP.. unless you can afford a place to live, everything you need, food, insurance, transportation, utilities.. you cannot afford a baby. kids are expensive

Erm, I've worked in Ohio and Kentucky, and minors can only work a certain amount of hours per week, and only up until a certain time at night. I'm an assistant manager at my store, and we have a minor working there. During the week, she can only work until 10pm, though she gets off at 9. And during the weekend, only until midnight due to license restrictions (minors cannot be out driving after midnight). I can't remember off the top of my head how many hours a week she can work... I think 25? So before taxes, at $7.25 an hour (minimum wage).. that's only $180 a week. Even if they both were working, that's only $1400 a month BEFORE taxes.

^ Just trying to put that in perspective for OP. Total, they'd be bringing home about $1k a month.. if that.

Can't have a full license in KY or OH until you're 17, that's if you get your permit on the day you turn 16. Have to hold your permit for 6 months, then your intermediate for another 6 months, then finally your full license with no restrictions.

ok, but you don't k now where she lives.. or what the laws are there. In georgia... you get your permit at 15. after 1 year and a day.. you can get your license. You can drive later at night if it's to and from work. You just can't have a job selling alcohol.

I bled for between 4 hours and 1 month with my miscarriages. most were less then a few days. the one where I bled for a month, I should have had a D&C, but I was in college and in denial and didn't want it to show up on parents insurance. Your fertility may take month to return. miscarriages can either increase fertility or stop ovulation. they really smurf up your body and that is why it is recommended to wait before TTC again.
Now for your age. I get the desire for a child after a loss - I do, but you are NOT ready for this. no matter what you think you can do, you have NOT considered everything. It is irresponsible to purposfully attempt to bring a child into the world when you are in NO way mature enough to handle it physically or emotionally and not ready for the financial hardships it WILL put on you and your family. You have NO right to do this. I would guess you are going to use some form of government assistance to get by and TTC at 16 while anticipating using MY (or anyone else's) tax money to support a kid you don't need is bull smurf

Okay, well, it's not like that in every state. In KS, minors can work pretty much anywhere (definitely not exclusively fast food joints) and can work full time hours. I was working overtime semi-regularly before I was ever 18. And there is no legally having to be off from your shift at a certain time. There is no curfew for driving if you're a minor and you can get your permit at 14, restricted at 15, full license at 16.

Not justifying OP's attempts to get knocked up. Even if she was working full time and making decent money and could monetarily provide for herself, she's still too young to have her own place, sign any legal documents without a parent/guardian, purchase a vehicle, etc. Definitely not in a position to be raising a kid when she's still a kid herself. Just pointing out that you have no idea where OP lives and what the laws are like there, because obviously the experiences you have had with driving and employment are vastly different from mine.

I was told the opposite of this at the hospital by my Dr... my Dr told me that I had no reason to fear my fertility being compromised or that this will necessarily happen again

i loled at the tax money part.. sigh

Not true and he shouldn't have said that since there is no way to know. Honestly with 5 losses, I'm pretty versed in this. If you are laughing I would love to hear your plan to finance a child at 16 without using assistance. I'm sure other girls would love to know those plans too

And when I look up miscarriage I see nothing that says I should fear my body being smurfed up ..that Dr said the total opposite of that and tried very hard to get that point across to me

do not see why he would do that if that was not true...

When I miscarried I was not told my body could be "smurfed up" or messed up was told aslong as it was a completed miscarriage that my body did all the work or aslong as I had a D&C which ever route, that I should be okay.

One miscarriage is nothing to fear any Doc now a days will tell you that. I was hard on the OP before too but just feel bad for her think she has no real parental support, think she is taking this very hard but do not know what her and her boyfriend have or what they are capable of so not going to put her down.

telling her this is just cruel and not true.

Cuz he didn't want you seeing any urgency to TTC immediately. He thinks you are stupid too and doesn't want you having a baby either. Also where's you financial plan?

That makes no sense... you are calling me stupid as you the adult sit on here and act like a child..he did not think I was stupid he was a caring ER Dr who knew nothing about me

I trust what he said

have a nice day ...

Does KS just not care about the kid going to school and having enough time to do their homework/sleep? Going to full school time and going to work full time while still in high school is hard as smurf. I struggled just working 25 hours a week. A kid working a FT job while in school means going to school from 7-3pm, and working 5pm-1am. A whole 6 hours to sleep and do homework? Wow.

Seems way too much for a child to be doing.

Ehhhh. I got pregnant at 16, had my son at 17.
Not a fun time. As much as my I love my son... He's my whole world. I wouldn't wish a teenage pregnancy on my worse enemy.

I didn't have child-care. So I had to stop going to school, to stay home with my son, and now have to work on getting my G.E.D. while supporting my son.. STILL without child-care. 200+$ a week. Who's going to pay for that? Your parents?

Take your rose colored glasses off.. It's not all that and a bag of chips. It's harder than hell.

The smurf you see on Teen Mom is cake compared to real life.
