If you were chatting with someone..

thinking about dating him. He told you he was the same age as you let's say (25) then, "came clean" and told you the "truth" that he was 30 but you still decided to keep in touch with him. Well, next thing you know he tells you he lied again and that he was really 35. He just didn't know how to tell you that he was ten year older than what he had told you he was. Blah, blah.

Would you continue chatting with him or would that be a deal breaker?

His age wouldn't be a deal breaker. The lying would be.

For me it would be a deal breaker. I once dated a guy when I was 17 who told me that he was 22. After a year I found out (from his brother, who he had told I was 23), that he was 36 and had been done for statutory rape previously.

yeah he also tried to get my best friend at the time to cybersex with him. It broke me and my friend up and even now 12 years later we haven't really reconciled which hurts because she's been through a LOT and I haven't been there for her.

I'm sorry for that. Have you tried to reconcile with her and she wants to hear nothing of it or have you not tried?
