I'm soooooo stupid

posted 15th Feb
Okay so we had a little bonefire cookout thing tonight. I was sitting by the fire while the guys were putting some sticks in. Well, they dropped one and I leaned over to pick it up and throw it on. Except they didn't drop one, and this was one that somehow fell out of the fire. So it was smurfing hot. And now I have a blister on my finger. And it hurts. I have no aloe. I've pretty much been holding one of those refreezable ice cubes for the last 5 hours.   Anything else I can do? It's a small spot on the tip of my finger. It's hard like a callous and I know it will turn into a blister.

It's seriously the only thing we had at the camp site and now that I'm home I can't leave it off for more than a minute or two or I start hurting.

That's because ice is bad for burns. Run it under Luke warm water. Your finger isn't done burning that's why it hurts. Some Advil will be good too.

I ran it under some water but I will do it again.

And to clarify, what I'm using isn't actually ice. Its this cold plastic thing with gel inside. But it's not frozen or wet.

I've heard honey works wonders on burns. I've never tried it though.

get some polysporin with pain relief in it.
My son burnt his finger a while ago, and after running his finger under cold water for 30 minutes, it still hurt him. So I took him to the doctor and they gave him a prescription that had a numbing agent in it as well.

Hmm well I will remember that for next time. I do know that pickles and vinegar works though, I used to use it whenever I burnt my self at work.
