Courthouse weddings mean poor

Do you get the impression that courthouse weddings are for poor people and big wedding ceremonies are for attention whores who care more about the party than the sanctity of marriage?

I was married in front of the courthouse the day my husband got home after being gone for 9 months.

Not because we were poor. But...Because I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on pointless things just to impress other people. My getting married was for him and I, and our close family.


And it was beautiful...

Definitely. We were poor, so we got married in the court house. I was also knocked up.  

I don't get that impression at all. Sometimes people prefer a smaller more simpler ceremony.

To me it means that they had better things to spend money on than a party to impress a bunch of other people.

I don't think so. It is about what you and your husband want and if you don't care to spend all the extra money or having a bunch of people there's nothing wrong with that

I'm getting married at the courthouse. I'm 26 with two kids. Regular weddings are for people who don't have kids... That's my opinion. Hate it if you like. I'm not doing a wedding. I forfeited it!

We had a huge very expensive wedding that my parents paid for, so we could enjoy it with everyone we love.

No I don't think it means your poor nor do I think big weddings are for Attention grabbing whores. Just because someone wants a big wedding don't mean that at all I had a big fancy wedding nothing over the top but I didn't do it for anyone else it was what I wanted so I made it happen.

Nope. I had a nice wedding because i wanted to follow tradition, not because of a party lol. And some people don't want the stress of wedding planning, so more power to them

3 don't believe in god

Me! I have two kids. How tacky is that? A wedding would be way more tackier.
