I don't believe in "God" anyway. I'm pretty positive that courthouse marriages have absolutely nothing to do with how long you will stay with this person considering my parents have been married going on 27 years and they were also married in a courthouse so that proves your theory wrong.

i dont think courthouse wedding means poor. i think its what you and your soon-to-be husband prefer. my husband and i were engaged a year and saving every penny we could to have a ceremony. being married meant making more money combined at our job. so we eloped. told our job we were married and started earning more income. not once did we tell our friends or family we were married. exactly one year later we held a beautiful beach side ceremony and rented a beach house for the honeymoon. my step daughter was the bridesmaid. the wedding itself was small and inexpensive.
for those saying you cant have a wedding cuz you already have kids or cuz of some other excuse why you cant, your just making excuses. its all about determination and how you save. just because your engaged doesnt mean you have to married in 3 months or by the end of the year. take as long as you need and save. $10 here and $20 there really had up if you dont spend it on cigarets or another cheeseburger you really dont NEED anyways. if there is a will there is a way. its up to you to find the way and that takes work and determination.

That's interesting. I've never heard of a job that pays you more for being married.

And I agree that you can work hard to save up for the wedding that you want rather than settling for nothing at all just because you can't stop buying cheeseburgers or cigarettes.

And your wedding sounded beautiful. I love beach side weddings.
